alterations.

I have been tearing apart my closet lately, working on adding pieces to my wardrobe that I LOVE and not just like. That being said, there are piles of things that I really like, so much so, that I can't get rid of them, but I don't know that I wear them enough to warrant keeping. So, my solution has been to do some serious surgery with the limited sewing knowledge I have, taking things from LIKE to LOVE.

An example is this skirt.

I found it at a thrift store a while back and died over the pattern. The problem I always had with it was it's length. It was a mid calf length skirt, which normally wouldn't be an issue, but with the material being what it was, it didn't compliment the skirt. Instead it looked boxy and uncomfortable. So I hemmed it into a mini skirt and fell in love.

Lately, I have been playing with patterns. Which is way out of the norm for me. But I am having fun with it. So hopefully, the daring part of me will continue to branch out from my solid, neutral prison.

Fast.

Just wanted to make a quick post. The weather here in Ohio flip-flops a lot, so one day it's warm and the next it's freezing. The other night I went to a bonfire with some friends and it was quite chilly. So, I piled on the layers.

Wrap Sweater- Target; Thermal Long Johns- Hanes; Faux Fur Shrug- Zara; Headband- DIY

I bet there is no one out there who though they would see anyone except Charlie Day wearing long johns on a normal basis, but I plan to make this an okay thing to do. Also, excuse my messy room.

Catch Up.

Have been busy lately, so unfortunately I haven't had a lot of time to post. So, now, I'm playing catch up. I have been really into eye-catching accessories lately. A great necklace, scarf, pair of shoes, or hat really makes an outfit.

Flower Necklace- Vintage; Jeweled Collar Necklace- Thrift store find; Headband- DIY; Oxfords- Candies; Scarf- Vintage.

Busy week. I attended a clothing swap with my friends last night, which was a great alternative to blowing my paycheck as soon as I got it and a great excuse to clean out my closet and give old favorites a good home. That being said, I acquired quite a bit of cute pieces, so I will have some stuff to post soon enough.
